We Dig Deep

into all sorts of experiences.

At Little Dreamers Big Believers, we offer all sorts of hands-on learning classes and activities that enrich each child’s academic and social selves. Our children learn to speak Spanish, make music and art, move their bodies through gymnastics and fitness classes, and discover the world in our Imagination Station and Sensory Centers. We even invite guest presenters to come in and bring their own brand of adventure to the classroom.

 Sweet Peas
room

Infants, 6 weeks to 12 months

The first thing we tell parents getting ready to leave their Sweet Peas in our care for the very first time is, “Don’t Worry!” We have incredible infant-to-staff ratios, with many more teachers than ODJFS (Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services) require, and every one of those teachers will love your little ones like they are their own. Your baby will be assigned a dedicated caregiver, who will make sure she or he is meeting all of your infant's (and your) needs, and give you regular updates about the day.

To ensure all the comforts of home, diapers and wipes are included in the cost of tuition (one less thing for you to worry about), and once your child is ready, we will also provide organic baby food.

Happy honeydews room

Older infants, 9 to 18 months

We give our Happy Honeydews the same one-on-one attention we give our younger infants, while also preparing them for their eventual move to the Toddler Rooms. As with Sweet Pea Place, we maintain our incredible infant-to-staff ratios, with many more teachers than ODJFS (Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services) require, and a dedicated caregiver assigned to your little one.

And because you’re never too young to learn, Happy Honeydews rooms have music class once a week with Joanie Calem, a local musician, singer/song-writer, and teacher who gently introduces simple songs and movement that capture a small child's attention.

BUSY BEES
room

Young toddlers, 18 to 24 years

Toddlers are truly Busy Bees, beginning to explore the world and find their own voices. We begin to cultivate a love of books in our students from the time they are infants, and once in a Busy Bee room they take part in Itty Bitty Bookworm—a literature-based preschool curriculum in which children start connecting the books they read with corresponding activities.

There's lots of time for outdoor recess, imaginative play, and teacher-led adventures. Joanie Calem, a local singer/songwriter comes weekly to teach music, and children begin Spanish lessons and enjoy weekly gymnastics classes with instructors from Cincinnati's Gym Skills Mobile Gym.

DARLING CLEMENTINES room

Older toddlers, 2 to 3 years

Our Darling Clementines follow the same basic routines as our younger Busy Bees, continuing to explore the world and getting ready for pre-school. The literature-based Itty Bitty Bookworm program remains an important part of the curriculum, connecting children to age-appropriate books and encouraging them to participate in corresponding activities.

There’s still lots of time for outdoor recess, imaginative play, and teacher-led adventures. Joanie Calem, a local singer/songwriter comes weekly to teach music, and children continue with Spanish lessons and weekly gymnastics classes with instructors from Cincinnati's Gym Skills Mobile Gym.

Preschool, 3 to 4 years

With a good balance of play and learning, Curious Caterpillars enjoy a full day of activities. Structured learning becomes more prevalent now, with instruction in basic math, language arts, science, and art, as well as weekly classes in music with Joanie Calem, Spanish, gymnastics, yoga, and dance.

SMART APPLES
room

Pre-Kindergarten, 4 to 5 years

Everything we do in the Smart Apples Room is designed to prepare children to march into Kindergarten with confidence and knowledge that puts them ahead of the pack. Along with building strong social skills, we also offer a comprehensive curriculum to ensure they’re ready for elementary school.

We continue to focus on math and science, introduce children to social studies, and our Mother Goose curriculum to have children begin writing and recognizing sight words. And, of course, music, dance, yoga, Spanish, and gymnastics are still offered weekly.

Diapers, wipes, and food are all included in the cost of tuition.

EVERY MONTH THE GRANDVIEW AND COLUMBUS LIBRARIES COME TO ALL OUR CENTERS TO ENHANCE OUR CHILDRENS’ LOVE OF BOOKS AND LEARNING. AND OUR TEACHERS ARE UNPARALLELED IN THEIR ABILITY TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH A VARIETY OF LEARNING EXPERIENCES THAT UNLOCK AN ABIDING LOVE FOR EDUCATION AND EXPLORATION.

But sometimes, an out-of-the-ordinary adventure is in order, and that's where our guest presenters come in. Able to infuse a classroom with excitement and the thrill of discovery, our guests make the everyday extraordinary. Trust us when we tell you that, after a guest visit, your kids will be talking about it for weeks!!

Past presenters have included Mother Goose, The Turtle Lady, Bring the Farm to You, Dr. Insecta, Erica Carlson's Children's Entertainment, and Gator Dave.

Next Stop? Imagination!

Our kids LOVE Imagination Station.

Books are wonderful things, but they’re even better when you bring them to life. Imagination Station encourages our children to make their favorite stories come to life with props, costumes, and a whole lot of fun. In the past we've been Billy Goats Gruff and gone on a boat trip, and we never know where our next book will take us!
